When will I learn?
For several years I was exercising and not losing weight. In January Tina and I chose to go completely vegan for 6 weeks. This included, the exclusion of processed foods. I lost a total of 17 pounds.
We ended up eating this way for 4 months. We both felt better and enjoyed the diet. Food tasted better and we were both healthier.
The slippery slope started when we decided we could add a few things back into the diet. Recently I’ve been struggling. I’ve gained weight and it seems impossible to stop eating sweets. I’ve been very frustrated.
I’ve upped my exercise and continue to gain or at least not lose. A few days ago the epiphany hit me….it doesn’t matter how much I exercise if I keep putting crap in my mouth.
So I’ve chosen to restart the vegan diet tomorrow. I’ve chosen to eat the foods that will help me lose weight and be healthier….wish me luck!
Good luck, Tree! Eat well, stay healthy! 🙂
Thanks Amy!
You have the answer to what works for you. Now you can do this.
Thank you Patti
It is really 95% the food that is the culprit. Good luck.
True! Thank you
Good luck!
Thanks 🙂
Everyone needs to find their own diet. There is no one diet for everyone. For me, carbs are the enemy. Next week, I will join the diet bandwagon. Yeah. ..
You are right. We all need to find what works for us.
I would love to move beyond thinking of it as a diet and make it a true lifestyle change.
If foods like chocolate would stop talking to me it would help :/)
Good luck! For me it was going gluten free (and low carb) that did it. I’m glad you found what works for you. That’s half the battle! Roll on!!
First half knowing what works! Second half—–doing it!!
haha no doubt!
You and I share the same demons. Best wishes! I hope both of us succeed.
It’s a constant challenge isn’t it?!
yes … and lately I’ve been losing.
The challenge, I mean. Not the weight.
Me too 😢
We all seem to be in the same boat and if we don’t quit eating junk, that boat is going to sink! 🙂
I struggle as well. I love writing about my love for cake but I love eating it too. My goal is to quit eating before I go to bed. This will be a really tough nut as I have always used that time to snack and have “Sue” time. I now want to train myself to have “Sue” time without the calories!
Yes!!
I can eat well all day….then I sit down to relax before bed and the damn peanut butter, or chocolate starts calling me (by name!)
Never does a carrot or an apple softly whisper my name….nope, never!
You are so right. This boat is gonna sink if we don’t off load some of the excess. 🙂
Yeah those darn veggies and fruits are waaaay to quiet!
Yep
The answer is in you – good luck!
Thanks Leya
Finding the diet that suits you is the first step. I don’t think I could every go vegan but I’ve been trying to cut out a lot of the processed food. Biscuits and sweets are definitely my downfall! Good luck. 🙂
Thanks for the encouragement!
