2016

Blogging goals for 2016? I’ve been thinking about this a lot.

Last year I did 365 days of photos, The A-Z Challenge during the month of April and NaBloPoMo during the month of November.

I considered doing the 365 Days of Photos again but I think it would be better for me to focus on writing.

So my goal is to write. I will still do photo challenges…but mostly I need to focus on writing.

My other goal is to grow my blog. I realize to do this I need to get out there and actively participate in the blogging world. So often I find myself falling behind in reading everyone else’s blog. If any of you have any other suggestions I would appreciate hearing them.

I enjoyed 2015 and I look forward to 2016….lets see where the days ahead take us!

I have the same problem – I can’t keep up with the blogs I follow, so I try to focus only on those blogs where I have made a connection with the writer or photographer. It’s still can be hard to keep up, especially with prolific posters!

I make up my own challenges. . Mine is mostly for meaningful, educational posts… not as much fluff, as I call it.
Yes, I agree to grow you must nurture other’s blogs. I follow this woman that gets an average of 200 likes a post! 200! She isn’t particularly witty, doesn’t post too often, but has nice photos. How the hell does she do it? I do see her liking many things I do, but does she really have time to read all that? She doesn’t ‘tag’ her posts that well either, meaning outside of WP, she may not fair well. I’m still scratching my noggin.
I wish you the best in 2016, whatever challenge you choose for yourself. I always find your photos and writings interesting, so I look forward to following you!

      I appreciate your consistent support.
I wonder about people just going through and “liking” stuff.
Maybe that’s one of the reasons I have a hard time keeping up…because I actually want to read the posts.
I tend to realize I haven’t been to a certain blog for awhile (like your’s) and I’ll go spend time catching up (I owe you a catch up!)

I’m actually content with the consistent followers that I feel I’ve developed friendships with. But part of me wants to reach more….ego I suppose

Eh, we all want to be heard and recognized. . Nothing wrong with that! 😉
I don’t follow a great many folks for the same reasons as you. However, it is hard to keep up sometimes. I do admit I may use the like button a bit flippantly. .. I do read things and like them after reading (kinda like a bookmark)… if I reeeeeally didn’t like it, I won’t like it. If I really liked it, I comment.
As my blog is informational, I want Mr. Google and Ms. Bing to find me better, and that is what I’ve worked on. I don’t get many likes (avg. 25 per post), but my hits are so much higher outside of WP.
WP has many tutorials and wpbeginner.com is a great source for achieving whatever success you want from WP.
Whatever challenge you choose, I’m sure you’ll succeed with flying colors! 😆

Ok….I confess I’ve done the flippant “like” but I try not do do that very often 😦
Interesting I haven’t given a lot of thought to “where” my blog is read. I just want it read.
When I transitioned from a Facebook page to WP I lost a lot of readers because they didn’t want the hassle of “signing in” to comment.
I recently started posting automatically to Twitter every Time I post on WP
I guess I need to do the same to my old FB page.
Thanks for letting me ramble…just trying to figure it all out!
